| Jan-March 2026 News |
In January, the WBC16 Pairs league (online) reached a conclusion, with John Dowbiggin and David Thomas winning, with Mick and Gerald in 2nd place. WBC17 pairs will start shortly!
In February, four of our pairs played in the Club Representative Pairs event: well done to Peter Lacey + Phil Sharp, who were our highest placed pair, finishing in 4th place in a very closely fought contest.
We had mixed fortunes in March in WCBA teams events: on Sun 15th March, Jane + Ramsey, Pam + Brian Y, Dennis + Steve K, Mike V + Rob C finished 1st equal with Malvern BC in the Ron Allen trophy (Teams-of-Eight). However, Malvern came out on top, as they beat us soundly in the head-to-head. We wish them well in the Regional Final of the Garden Cities event.
Five days later, we completed a win in the Inter-Club Teams (Teams of Four) competition, with a big lead over Droitwich in 2nd place, with Bromsgrove in 3rd place. Our team (across five heats from October to March) was represented by Jane M, Mark, Rob C, Mike V, David W and Dick R. The picture (below) shows the line-up for the final heat, (Jane, Mark, David, Mike).
